Common Import Errors

Error: "Missing Required Columns"

Cause: CSV doesn't have ticker and shares columns.

Fix:

1. Ensure your CSV has headers: Symbol, Quantity
2. Alternative names work: Ticker, Shares
3. Headers must be in the first row

Error: "Invalid Ticker Symbol"

Cause: Unrecognized stock ticker.

Fix:

• Remove non-US stocks (we only support US markets)
• Check for typos in ticker symbols
• Remove mutual funds (we analyze stocks only)

Error: "Invalid Share Count"

Cause: Non-numeric share values.

Fix:

• Remove commas from numbers (use 100, not 1,000)
• Remove currency symbols
• Use decimal for fractional shares (10.5)
